yes, it is RINGBACK tones, not ringtones, and i cant figure it out. Verizon's solution (to go to "get it now" and fix it there) isn't possible because after the flash "get it now" is gone!

It is very strange because this phone never had get it now. That is not an option on any Windows Based phone from Verizon. I really have no idea how you got a ringback tone on your phone.

I've never known a device that lets you control ringback tones right on the device. Typically, that feature is controlled via your VZW online account
log into your VZW account. Look for the section called "Ringback Tones" You can then manage the settings in that screen.
Alternatively, just call CS and ask them to remove it from your account.
You'll want to check with CS anyway - I removed that feature from my online account over a year ago and just found out that it was still activated. Guy at Wireless Store where I upgraded to the 6800 de-activated it for me.

that's the strange thing, CS claims it isn't showing on my account, so I don't know what happened, I certainly didn't add it, nor as another poster suggested, got it through some other thing I did, as after the rom/radio/carrier cab installation is simple programs like icalc and gpsgate etc... I'll check my online account, thanks!

So I finally got to the bottom of my new (horrible) ringback tones that I never requested nor approved...
I started getting a ringback tone (classical musak) after my first radio/rom flash (DCD 3.2.3). Verizon said I didn't have ringback tones, and my online account said the same. Last night the tech support tried blocking the ringback tones feature, that still didn't work! Finally, adding and removing ringback tones (after unblocking the feature) made it go away.... Wierd I know, but if anyone has the same problem, that's how you solve it!
FYI ringback tones aren't on the phone they are on the "system" (albeit through a third party provider) so nothing you do to the phone can affect them (to my knowledge).
